Israeli occupation forces on Tuesday uprooted dozens of olive trees in the village of Beit Ur al‑Fauqa, west of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank’s central part, as bulldozers carried out widespread land clearing operations.

Ali Samara, head of the village council, told WAFA News Agency that Israeli bulldozers destroyed dozens of olive and forest trees while razing large tracts of land in the western part of the village.

Samara added that the land, belonging to eight Palestinian citizens, lies adjacent to the Israeli military roadblock at the village entrance.

Samara also said that the occupation authorities had notified residents of their intention to bulldoze approximately 50 dunums of land in both the eastern and western areas of the village, most of which are planted with olive trees.

Local farmers described the uprooting as part of Israel’s systematic policy of confiscating agricultural land and undermining Palestinian livelihoods in the West Bank.
