Illegal Israeli colonizers, with the cooperation of occupation soldiers, killed four Palestinians and injured four others, on Friday, in the town of Tel, southwest of Nablus in the northern West Bank. Colonizers shot four young men, assaulted others, and burned homes in the village of Far’ata, east of Qalqilia, in the northwestern part of the West Bank.
In a statement, the Palestinian Health Ministry announced that Israeli forces and colonizers killed four citizens and wounded four others, three critically, in the town of Tel, southwest of Nablus in the northern West Bank.
The ARAB 48 News website identified the slain young men as Farouk Adnan Ali Ramadan, 41, Ibrahim Hussein Ali Ramadan, 32, Jawad Hussein Ali Ramadan, 27, and Imran Ahmad Ali Ramadan, 37, adding that four slain citizens belonged to the same family, including two brothers.
Media sources reported that a group of Israeli colonizers invaded the town of Tel on Friday morning, and opened fire towards at citizens homes, shooting three citizens with live rounds; one citizen was shot in the abdomen, one in the head, and another in the thigh.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported that its ambulance crews treated three citizens who sustained “very serious injuries, as a result of an attack by settlers on the town of Tel.”
Nablus Governor Ghassan Daghlas told Al-Araby TV that a group of Israeli settlers stormed the village of Tel, attempted to burn down citizens’ homes, and opened fire on residents who confronted the attack
Daghlas stated that “armed settler gangs attacked the village, assaulting the residents and their property, and the residents confronted them with their bare chests, amidst clashes in the area.”
He told the WAFA News Agency that “what happened reflects the arrogance of the occupation, which seeks to impose a fait accompli and provide protection for the terrorist settlers who attack the outskirts and centers of Palestinian towns and villages, and who assault and kill Palestinians, burn their homes and seize their lands.”
According to the secretary of the Fatah movement in Tel, Issam Al-Saifi, colonizers attacked two houses in the eastern part of the town, before residents confronted them and forced them to retreat.
Al-Saifi added that “Half an hour later, the settlers attacked the western area of the town again, which led to hand-to-hand clashes between the locals on one side, and the settlers and occupation soldiers who stormed the area to provide them with protection on the other.”
He stated that occupation soldiers and colonizers indiscriminately fired live ammunition at Palestinian civilians, before declaring the town a closed military zone, while settlers maintained their presence in the area.
Badran Safi, an eyewitness speaking to Quds Press described the attack as “tragic and unprecedented,” adding that “No one is standing with us. This was not an isolated incident. Settlers, backed by the Israeli occupation, attack us almost every day.”
Safi reported that at least 50 settlers, many of whom were armed, stormed the village “with the intention of killing and burning.”
In a statement, the Israeli army reported “gunfire in ‘Havat Gilad’, in the northern West Bank,” later adding that a Palestinian “seized the weapon of the security guard who arrived in the area and opened fire on (the settlers), and as a result, a number of them were injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.”
ARAB48 reported that an Israeli officer with the rank of major and a soldier were killed and three others were wounded during a “military operational activity” adding that they “imposed a security cordon on the city of Nablus and the village of Tel.”
Meanwhile, colonizers from the same “Havat Gilad” settlement invaded the village of Far’ata, east of Qalqilia in the northwestern part of the West Bank, on Friday morning, armed with guns, clubs, and rocks.
Media sources reported that the colonizers shot four Palestinians with live ammunition and assaulted four others while they confronted the attack, in addition to burning two houses, a carpentry workshop, and agricultural lands.
For its part, the PRCS reported that eight citizens sustained injuries, including four from live ammunition and others as a result of assault, in the town of Far’ata.
Jamal Yamin, the head of the Jit village council, told WAFA that hundreds of settlers attacked the area between the villages of Jit, east of Qalqilia, and Tel town, on Friday morning, and attempted to burn citizens’ property before residents confronted them.
He added that occupation forces stormed the area to provide protection for the illegal settlers, while firing tear gas canisters at the citizens protecting their property, causing a number of inhalation injuries.
