Israeli soldiers abducted at least 16 citizens from the West Bank overnight until the morning hours of Monday, including a woman and several former political prisoners.
The Palestinian Commission of Prisoners’ Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society reported that the abductions were distributed across the governorates of Bethlehem, Hebron, Ramallah, Tubas, and Salfit, specifically in the town of Haris, where Israeli forces continue field investigations with dozens of the town’s residents.
They noted that the abductions are accompanied by assaults and threats against the abductees and their families, as well as widespread destruction and vandalism of citizens’ homes and property.
It is worth mentioning that Israeli forces have abducted more than 10,800 citizens from the West Bank, including the occupied capital, Jerusalem, since October 7, 2023.
This number includes those abducted from their homes, at military roadblocks, and those forced to turn themselves in to the military under pressure after the army detained members of their families, including parents, as hostages to pressure them into surrendering.
