Israeli soldiers abducted, Wednesday, three workers of the Waqf and Islamic Endowment Department, in the Al-Aqsa Mosque, in occupied Jerusalem, for refusing to stop maintenance work on the main gate of the al-Qibli mosque, in Al-Aqsa Compound.
The workers, identified as Kayed Jaber, Issa Dabbagh, and the head of Al-Aqsa Reconstruction Committee, Engineer Bassem Al-Hallaq, were trying to fix the gate that was repeatedly damaged by the soldiers in previous attacks.
The WAFA Palestinian News Agency said an argument broke out between the invading soldiers and Al-Aqsa workers, who told the army that the maintenance work in the holy site is run by the Waqf and Endowment Department, and has nothing to do with the police or the military.
The attack was carried out while groups of fanatic colonist settlers continued their provocative tours in the holy site, under heavy police and army accompaniment, while the Muslim worshipers were forced away.
