On Monday, Israeli soldiers continued to bulldoze significant portions of land belonging to the Palestinians in the Thaher Sobeh area, which is part of the towns of Sarta and Bidya, located to the west of Salfit, in the occupied West Bank’s central part.
Nathmi Salman, a local nonviolent activist against the illegal Israeli colonialist activities, the soldiers these forces have been conducting extensive bulldozing and uprooting of Palestinian agricultural lands in the Salfit Governorate for months.
Salman added that the army wants to extend water lines to illegal Israeli colonies, built on stolen Palestinian lands settlements, at the expense of Palestinian landowners.
The leveling and uprooting of the Palestinian lands is being carried out on Thaher Sobeh, in addition to Kifl Hares town, and Wadi Qana.
The lands are the only sources of income to many families in those villages and are being either leveled or illegally confiscated from the Palestinians for the construction and expansion of Israel’s illegal colonies.
Alo Monday, illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers burnt large areas of Palestinian lands and attacked Bedouin tents in the Wad Yasuf area, north of the Al-Lubban Ash-Sharqiya village, south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank’s northern part.
All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.
Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory.”
On Monday dawn, Israeli soldiers invaded Hizma town, north of the occupied capital, Jerusalem, in the West Bank, and demolished a gas station.
On Sunday evening, the Israeli army and the police forced a Palestinian family to demolish its home in the Ein Al-Louza neighborhood in Silwan town, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, in occupied Jerusalem, in the West Bank.
