On Thursday, Israeli soldiers accompanied dozens of colonizers into the archeological site in Sebastia Palestinian town northwest of Nablus, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.
Mohammad Azem, the Mayor of Sebastia, said many army vehicles accompanied several buses filled with colonizers into the area after the army invaded it and closed it to the Palestinians.
The soldiers also installed roadblocks in the town before isolating the area around the archeological site.
Azem added that many Palestinians protested the invasion before the soldiers fired rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs, and concussion grenades.
It is worth mentioning that the soldiers frequently invade Sebastia to accompany groups of colonialist settlers into the archaeological area.
During these invasions, the soldiers block all Palestinian traffic, frequently storm homes, abduct Palestinians, attack protesters, and remove the Palestinian flag from the archeological area.
