On Monday, Israeli soldiers invaded the Wadi Al-Jouz neighborhood in the occupied Palestinian capital, Jerusalem, in the West Bank and demolished a brick factory.
Factory owner, Fadi Salayma, said his family established and built the factory fifty years ago on lands owned by the Palestinian Waqf and Islamic Endowment Department.
Salayma added that the army brought its bulldozers without prior notice or warning and demolished the factory.
Before leaving the area, the soldiers confiscated a diesel container and five tractors from the property. The factory provided livelihood to nine big families.
Fadi’s mother told Palestine TV that “despite the destruction, the only and most important thing is the health and well-being of my children,” and added, “They are the ones who bring money home, not the money that brings them….”
Israel intends to confiscate the lands where the factory stood to construct its illegal colonies in violation of International Law and the Fourth Geneva Convention.
