Earlier on Wednesday morning, Palestinian Red Crescent medics located the body of a young man whom Israeli soldiers killed, and injured seven Palestinians in Jenin and Jenin refugee camp, in the occupied West Bank’s northern part, during a massive invasion the army initiated on Tuesday night, before the soldiers withdrew in the morning.

Media sources that many Israeli military vehicles invaded the city and its refugee camp for many hours, leading to protests and exchanges of fire with Palestinian resistance fighters.

Medical sources said the soldiers killed A young man, Aref Marwan Aref Ali (Al-Qaddoumi), 25, after shooting him with live fire in the Jenin refugee camp.

They added that the soldiers shot four Palestinians with live fire, in addition to three who suffered shrapnel wounds from live fire.

Palestinian ambulances rushed to the invaded areas but were stopped and attacked by the Israeli forces.

Morad Khamaysa, a medic with the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said the soldiers delayed their arrival at the scene, and informed them that the area is a “closed military zone”, but were much later allowed to reach the wounded Palestinians.

Khamaysa added that the soldiers shot Aref with several live rounds, including to the right shoulder, to the back, and to the right side of his abdomen, and said that one Palestinian was injured by shrapnel from a missile fired from an Israeli drone.

The invasion began after a group of undercover Israeli soldiers infiltrated the Jenin city and Jenin refugee camp before military reinforcements arrived in many armored vehicles, including a bulldozer and a front-end loader.

During the invasion, the soldiers carried out a massive destruction operation on the infrastructure of the main streets in Jenin and also bulldozed Jenin-Haifa Street, in addition to burning a vehicle, destroying other vehicles, and destroying stalls placed on the sidewalks.

The Palestinian News & Info Agency (WAFA) said the soldiers also fired many live rounds at Palestinian homes, before storming and ransacking many homes and buildings in several areas, mainly in the Al-Hawashin, As-Samran, Jouret Ath-Thahab and Abdullah Azzam mosque.

During the invasions, the soldiers detained and interrogated many Palestinians for hours, and assaulted several young men, causing injuries.

The Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, said its fighters exchanged fire with the invading soldiers in several parts of the refugee camp.

Fighters from other groups, including Al-Aqsa Brigades, the armed wing of Fateh, also exchanged fire with the invading Israeli forces.
