On Tuesday evening, Israeli soldiers shot two young Palestinian men with live fire near the Ofer military prison in Betunia town, west of Ramallah, in the occupied West Bank’s central part.
Dozens of Palestinians, including families of detainees, gathered in front of the prison and the military base, awaiting the release of political prisoners, including many children, as per the mediated ceasefire agreement in Gaza, before the army attacked them to force them away.
The soldiers invaded the neighborhoods near the Ofer military base and prison and advanced towards the Schools Junction in the center of the town.
The sources added that the soldiers fired live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, and gas bombs.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said that its medics treated two young men for gunshot wounds to the army and the thigh and rushed them to a hospital in Ramallah.
