Israeli forces killed two Palestinian children and injured four citizens, including two seriously, on Monday, after families attempted to enter the Jenin refugee camp, in the northern occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian Health Ministry announced that 14-year-old Islam Abdel Aziz Noah Mujarmah was killed after Israeli soldiers shot him with live ammunition, adding that two young men suffered serious injuries.

Wissam Bakr, the Director of Jenin Governmental Hospital, told the WAFA News Agency that a second child, identified as Mohamed Siri Omar Maskala, 14, succumbed to his wounds after being shot with live ammunition in the Jenin refugee camp.

Bakr said that in addition to the two slain children, four citizens arrived at the hospital, including two in critical condition after sustaining gunshot wounds to the abdomen; they were both admitted to the operating room.

In an interview, the father of the slain, Islam Mujarmah, stated “We checked the house and left the camp, and suddenly my child fell beside me from the occupation’s bullets”.

For its part, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported that its ambulance crews transported a 22-year-old man to hospital after soldiers shot him in the abdomen with live ammunition.

The PRCS added that its ambulance crews transported two additional citizens to the hospital, including a 17-year-old who was shot in the shoulder by occupation forces, and a 12-year-old girl who injured her arm after a fall while soldiers were chasing her.

The same source reported that occupation forces abducted several Palestinians, taking them to a military barracks inside the camp.

On Monday night, Palestinians gathered at the Jenin Governmental Hospital to receive the body of the child, Mohamed Siri Omar Maskala.

Media sources said that funeral participants carried the body of the child on their shoulders to his family’s home, before burying him in the Martyrs’ Cemetery in the eastern neighborhood.
