Israeli forces suffered heavy losses on Monday night, after a coordinated ambush by Palestinian resistance fighters targeted occupation soldiers in Beit Hanoun, in the northern besieged Gaza Strip.
Quds Press reported that six Israeli soldiers were killed and ten others wounded after Palestinian fighters targeted them in the city of Beit Hanoun, which the Hebrew media called one of the most difficult incidents the military has experienced since October 7, 2023.
The same source reported that the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, claimed responsibility for the operation, which took place in an area the army had previously “cleared”.
Hebrew media reported that resistance fighters detonated an explosive device near an armored tank carrying soldiers, proceeded to target two consecutive rescue units, and then targeted the infantry unit with live fire.
According to Israeli media, military helicopters evacuated several wounded soldiers from the scene under heavy resistance fire, in a scene they described as chaotic, while military vehicles burned.

Quds Press quoted political analyst, Iyad Al-Qarra who remarked on the operation, saying: “The Beit Hanoun operation was not a passing incident. It sent a strategic message: The battlefield is far from decided. The resistance still holds surprises. And the occupation faces a deep military and political crisis.”
