Day 675 of the ongoing genocide witnessed relentless Israeli bombardment across the devastated, starved, and besieged Gaza Strip, killing at least 52 Palestinians over the past 24 hours, including 26 civilians who were shot to death by Israeli snipers while seeking humanitarian aid in the ‘Hunger Games’ style arenas of the US corporation GHF.

Medical sources at Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis announced on Monday evening the death of another child, Mohammed Zakaria Khader (5 years old) due to malnutrition and famine in the Gaza Strip.

Medical sources reported earlier today that the total number of victims of famine and malnutrition in the Gaza Strip had risen to 222 starved to death, including 101 children.

It is noteworthy that the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip continues to worsen, due to the blockade and shortages of food and medical supplies, as the severe famine overlaps with the genocidal war waged by the Israeli occupation since October 7, 2023.

Since March 2, 2025, the occupation authorities have closed all crossings with the Gaza Strip, preventing the entry of most food and medical aid, causing a famine outbreak within the Strip.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) warned that malnutrition among children under the age of five doubled between March and June, as a result of the ongoing blockade.

The World Health Organization confirmed that malnutrition rates in Gaza have reached alarming levels, that the deliberate blockade and delays in aid have caused many lives lost, and that nearly one in five children under the age of five in Gaza City suffers from severe malnutrition.

Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation forces have launched a genocidal campaign against the entire population of 2.3 million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the killing of 61,499 citizens, the majority of whom were children and women, and the injury of 153,575 others, in a preliminary toll, as a number of victims remain under the rubble and on the roads, and ambulance and rescue crews are unable to reach them.

In a heartfelt interview, journalist Anas Al-Sharif, who was killed in an Israeli strike yesterday, reflects on the immense personal challenges he has faced while reporting from Gaza.

He shares his struggles with constant Israeli threats to his safety, separation from his family, and the emotional toll of witnessing genocide’s devastation.

Yet, despite these immense challenges, Anas stayed dedicated to his work, determined to carry the stories of the victims and to be the voice representing the entire Gaza Strip.

A family member of Anas al-Sharif told IMEMC, “Israel may have killed Anas, but now there will be many more of him, dozens and dozens will speak up to tell the truth about what is happening to us. Because they can’t kill the truth.”

While international journalists are barred from visiting the Gaza Strip, and the world depends on Palestinian journalists like Anas al-Sharif to share the view from under the bombs, a group of 45 U.S. journalists is currently in Israeli hosted by Israeli President and chief hasbarist Isaac Herzog as part of a large-scale media tour.

Today, the delegation is set to visit the Gaza crossing points from Israeli side as part of a coordinated pro-Israel media campaign.

The entire trip is being funded by the Israeli occupation’s foreign ministry, the group is staying at Jerusalem’s King David Hotel.

Notably, not a single international journalist has been allowed to enter Gaza since the start of the war, as Israel continues to block access and prevent independent coverage of the ongoing genocide, and has killed over 200 journalists in targeted assassinations over the past 22 months.

The British Independent published this list of all the journalists killed by Israel since October 2023.

In central Gaza, the Israeli army fired barrages of live rounds and shells at Palestinians awaiting humanitarian aid north of Nuseirat refugee camp, killing a child and causing many injuries.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) issued a stark warning about the deepening humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, stating: “Children in Gaza are dying of hunger and bombardment. Entire families are being wiped out, neighborhoods are being destroyed, and a whole generation is being erased.”

UNRWA emphasized that international inaction and silence in the face of these atrocities amount to complicity, urging that the time has come to translate statements into immediate, concrete action.

The Assistant General Secretary of the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Britain described the killing of Al Jazeera journalists as shocking, expressing solidarity with their families and colleagues.

On Sunday, after months of threats to assassinate prominent Palestinian journalist Anas al-Sharif, Israel carried out its threat, killing Anas and several other journalists in a targeted bombing of the journalists’ tent at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza.

The journalists killed in the Israeli attack are, Anas al-Sharif, Mohammad Al-Khaldi, Mohammad Qreiqe’, Mohammad Nofal, Ibrahim Taher and Mo’men ‘Oleywa

The Government Media Office in Gaza announced that the number of Palestinian journalists killed has risen to 238, following Sunday’s massacre.

The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate also condemned the heinous crime committed against the Palestinian journalists in Gaza.

The Syndicate described the attack as a deliberate assault on the press and a grave violation of international law, urging urgent international action to protect journalists and hold perpetrators accountable.

The Regional Director of the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) criticized Israel’s ongoing targeting of media professionals.

“Israel has consistently labeled journalists as terrorists without providing credible evidence,” she said, “Israel’s approach toward journalists raises serious questions about its intentions and respect for press freedom. Journalists are civilians and must never be targeted. We call for accountability for those responsible for these crimes.”

British MP Jeremy Corbyn, speaking to Al Jazeera, condemned the killing of journalists in Gaza as a deliberate attempt to obscure the truth about crimes against humanity.

He described the targeted killing of Palestinian journalists as utterly repulsive, emphasizing that silencing the press is a tactic to suppress accountability and shield perpetrators from scrutiny.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry also strongly condemned the attack on journalists, calling it a brutal war crime. “The targeting of journalists is prohibited under all circumstances. Such acts constitute a clear violation of international law and amount to war crimes.”

Meanwhile, Newsweek shared an image dated August 7, 2025, and released by the Chinese satellite firm MizarVision shows the buildup of Israeli occupation military forces at the Karni crossing near northeastern Gaza.

The photo shows movements and formations that were consistent with preparations for a significant ground invasion of Gaza City.
