Israeli occupation forces and illegal paramilitary colonizers intensified their campaign of abductions, invasions, and assaults across the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, Thursday.
Reports from WAFA News, Al‑Jazeera, Quds News, and Arabs48 confirm dozens of Palestinians were abducted in pre‑dawn invasions, while colonizer attacks targeted homes, mosques, and farmland in multiple governorates.
Mass Abductions Across Governorates:
Dozens of Palestinians were abducted overnight in coordinated invasions across Nablus, Bethlehem, Qalqilia, and Tulkarem.
Former political prisoners were among those detained, with families describing violent searches, property destruction, and threats against detainees.
- Nablus: Seventeen Palestinians were abducted from refugee camps, the Old City, and Balata al‑Balad. In a separate incident, undercover soldiers surrounded a home in the Old City before military vehicles stormed the area, ransacking the property and abducting a young man, Ibrahim Habash.
- Bethlehem: Soldiers invaded and searched homes across the governorate, abducting a young man in Tuqu’ town, southeast of the city.
- Jericho: Thirteen citizens were abducted from the city and Aqabat Jabr refugee camp after soldiers raided homes, converted several into military posts, and subjected residents to field interrogations.
- Hebron: Seven residents of Beit Ummar were taken following destructive home invasions. During the same invasion, soldiers abducted Ahmad Abdul‑Salam Salhan and his son Amjad from Khirbet Qalqas after storming their home.
- Jenin: Two former political prisoners were abducted from Arraba and Bir al‑Basha. In Jenin refugee camp, soldiers shot a Palestinian physician in the thigh as he left a mourning house before medics rushed him to Ibin Sina Hospital.
- Qalqilia: Israeli forces stormed and searched homes, abducting at least one Palestinian.
- Salfit: Dozens of young men were detained during a massive invasion of Salfit city. Witnesses reported brutal beatings and field interrogations before some detainees were released.
- Jerusalem – Abu Dis & Ar‑Ram: Soldiers carried out wide‑scale invasions, detaining around 20 young men. The Abu Dis Club was converted into a makeshift interrogation center, where detainees were subjected to questioning, abuse, and physical assault before eventual release.
In Ar‑Ram, forces fired gas bombs and stormed Al‑Quds University’s mosque. Separately, Israeli occupation police invaded Sheikh Jarrah, installing a military roadblock and issuing fines against Palestinian vehicles — a move residents described as part of a broader campaign of harassment and restrictions.
- Ramallah: In al‑Am‘ari refugee camp, soldiers opened fire, wounding a 13‑year‑old child before detaining others. The soldiers also detained and interrogated dozens of young men, especially in Silwad town east of the city, before abducting many of them.
Colonizer Violence Escalates
Alongside military invasions, illegal paramilitary colonizers carried out coordinated assaults under army protection:
- In Bethlehem’s Nahhalin, illegal Israeli paramilitary colonizers attacked farmer Yousef Abdul Rahman Shakarna, beating and abducting him while he worked his land.
- In Masafer Yatta near Hebron, homes were attacked with stones and Molotov cocktails, torching vehicles, and farm equipment.
- Colonizers also uprooted olive trees and attempted to establish new grazing outposts near Nablus and Hebron.
More than 100 Palestinians were abducted in dawn invasions this week, while the death of 21‑year‑old Abdul Rahman al‑Sabateen in Israeli custody has raised alarm over systematic torture and medical neglect.
Rights groups emphasize that forced displacement, collective punishment, and colonizer expansion are prohibited under international humanitarian law.
Yet, impunity persists: the UN has documented over 1,000 Palestinians killed in the West Bank since October 2023, alongside a surge in colonizer attacks.
Analysts link Thursday’s escalations to the E1 colonial project and “Greater Jerusalem” plan, designed to sever East Jerusalem from its Palestinian surroundings and cut geographic continuity between the northern and southern West Bank.
The Wall & Colonization Resistance Commission reported more than 2,100 attacks by Israeli forces and colonizers in November alone, reflecting a deliberate strategy of intimidation and erasure.
The events of December 11 highlight the intensification of abductions, invasions, and colonizer violence across the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem.
With families facing daily assaults, confiscations, and economic strangulation, humanitarian agencies stress that urgent international intervention is needed to enforce legal protections and halt the cycle of impunity.
Since October 2023, more than 11,900 Palestinians have been detained across the occupied West Bank, underscoring the systematic nature of Israel’s detention campaign.
