A Palestinian citizen, on Friday, began tearing down his own home, near occupied Jerusalem, WAFA News Agency reported.
Ibrahim Erekat, from the town of Abu Dis, east of Jerusalem, said he was informed by the Israeli municipality of the order to demolish his home, because he lacked an Israeli building permit.
The municipality stated that should they demolish the home, he would be penalized with arbitrary charges.
The Israeli occupation uses the lack of building permit as a pretext for demolishing Palestinian homes, while denying Palestinians permission to build, and expanding illegal settlements in the West Bank.
