On Saturday, Israeli occupation authorities forced a Palestinian family to demolish their home in the At-Tur neighborhood, east of occupied Jerusalem.
Media sources said that the citizen, Abdullah Abu Subeitan was forced by Israeli authorities to demolish his 85-square-meter home in the At-Tur neighborhood.
According to Abu Subeitan, the Israeli Municipality delivered a demolition order two days ago against his family’s home.
Abu Subeitan added that he embarked on the demolition of his own home in an attempt to avoid paying the excessive costs if the occupation carried out the demolition.
It is important to mention that the destroyed home provided shelter for five family members, including children.
According to sources from the Jerusalem Governorate, Israeli authorities ordered 30 demolitions against Palestinian-owned homes in May, including nine who were forced to demolish their own homes.
