On Sunday, two Israelis were injured in a stabbing attack at the central bus station in the Negev city of Beersheba, while the perpetrator was killed when he was shot by Israeli police.
Israeli police said two injured people were taken to Soroka Hospital in Beersheba following the stabbing, adding that the perpetrator died of serious injuries after being shot by Israeli police.
Israeli medical sources said an Israeli man had been wounded in the back after being stabbed by a person who had been shot and seriously injured at the central bus station in Beersheba.
Israel Police said the motives for the stabbing remained unclear. Israeli media reported that the perpetrator of the attack was from the Negev city of Rahat.
Two weeks ago, an Israeli sergeant in the Nahal Brigade was killed and another Israeli was wounded in a stabbing attack in a café at the entrance to Kibbutz Beit Kama, north of Beersheba.
In light of the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip that has gone on for six months, stabbing and shooting attacks have taken place in the occupied West Bank and inside the Green Line in the past weeks, targeting military personnel and settlers, resulting in deaths and injuries.
The Palestinian resistance factions say they consider these attacks as a natural response to what the Israeli occupation forces are committing in Gaza.
