A Palestinian resistance fighter was killed, on Thursday, and another was seriously injured in the central Gaza Strip city of Deir al-Balah, after the accidental detonation of a crude explosive device, according to local sources.
A Palestinian resistance member was killed, on Thursday, and another man was seriously injured, by an accidental explosion at a resistance site in Deir al-Balah city, in the central part of the besieged Gaza Strip, according to local sources.
According to medical sources at the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, a Palestinian young man from the city was killed, and another man from the Al-Bureij refugee camp, was seriously injured as a result of the accidental detonation of an explosive device.
For its part, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior and National Security in Gaza, Iyad al-Bozom, confirmed the death of Ashraf Abdel Karim Hussein, 35, and the critical injury of another, “as a result of an explosion inside a resistance site in the central governorate.”
Al-Bozom added that local authorities are investigating the incident.
In June of 2023, two Palestinian teens were killed, and another was critically injured in the Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus, in the northern occupied West Bank, when an explosive device unexpectedly detonated near them.
The two teens were identified by the Palestinian Ministry of Health as Mohammad Jamal Hashash, 17, and Ala’ Hafnawi, 18.
