On Sunday evening, groups of illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers attacked Palestinian homes in Hebron city, located in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.
Human rights activist Aref Jaber reported that the colonizers, accompanied by soldiers, targeted the home of Mohammad Walid Jaber and assaulted members of his family.
Jaber added that the colonizers also assaulted an elderly man, Abed Shantir, the owner of a small grocery store in the Jaber neighborhood, after storming his shop.
Jaber, a resident of the Jaber neighborhood, further noted that dozens of colonizers held marches on Sunday in the closed-off areas east of the Ibrahimi Mosque, chanting and calling for the expulsion of Palestinians.
The colonizers also attacked several Palestinian homes in various neighborhoods of Hebron’s Old City, particularly in the Salaima and Jaber neighborhoods, as well as the Wad An-Nasara and Wad Al-Hasseen areas.
In related news, Israeli soldiers closed the military roadblock at the entrance of Shuhada Street in central Hebron, detaining numerous Palestinians, including schoolchildren, as they attempted to return to their homes.
All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.
Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory.”
