For the 174th consecutive day, Israeli occupation forces have sustained their military offensive assault on the city of Tulkarem and its refugee camp, alongside 161 continuous days of aggression against the adjacent Nur Shams refugee camp, in the occupied West Bank’s northwestern part.
The escalation, marked by unprecedented demolition and bulldozing operations, has devastated dozens of residential structures.
Armored Israeli military bulldozers resumed large-scale demolition today in Tulkarem refugee camp, continuing an intensified campaign that began last week.
The machinery targeted additional homes, reducing them to rubble beneath clouds of dust and smoke. Witnesses reported hearing explosions that shook the camp and surrounding neighborhoods.
This escalation follows the implementation of a new Israeli plan to demolish 104 buildings, housing nearly 400 homes, as part of an ongoing campaign that has already destroyed entire neighborhoods including al-Morabba’a, Abu al-Foul, ash-Shuhada, and al-Hammam, rendering thousands of families homeless.
Simultaneously, Nur Shams Camp remains under a tight military siege. The Israeli assault there has intensified, with soldiers deliberately torching homes, particularly in the Jabal an-Nasr area.
Eyewitnesses observed Israeli soldiers occupying a residential building under construction today, hurling stones from its rooftop onto adjacent homes.
Over recent weeks, Nur Shams has also witnessed extensive demolitions targeting dozens of homes.
Under the same overarching plan, occupation forces aim to destroy 106 buildings in both refugee camps, 48 of which have already been razed in Nur Shams.
The devastation has fragmented entire neighborhoods through the forced opening of new roads.
The ongoing military campaign has forcibly displaced over 5,000 families, impacting more than 25,000 residents. More than 600 buildings have been destroyed, while an additional 2,573 homes sustained partial damage.
The refugee camps remain isolated behind military barricades, emptied of life, and civilians are barred from accessing their properties. Occupation forces continue to fire live rounds at anyone approaching the area.
Israeli reinforcements have poured into Tulkarem, where armored vehicles and infantry units patrol continuously. Troop movements and provocations persist in densely populated areas, including the public market, Dr. Thabet Thabet Hospital Street, Jamal Abdel Nasser Square, and Nablus Street, deliberately obstructing vehicles and endangering civilians by driving against traffic and using sirens aggressively.
In addition, occupation forces invaded the neighborhoods of Shweika to the north, Ertah to the south, and Ektaba to the east, roaming through streets and blocking civilian movement.
Nablus Street, a vital corridor linking the two refugee camps, has been transformed into a military zone.
The soldiers maintain control over residential buildings they illegally occupied, particularly those facing Tulkarem refugee camp.
These homes were forcibly evacuated, some of which have been under occupation control for over four months. Heavy equipment remains stationed throughout the area.
The street has endured severe damage due to the many barricades that were installed months ago. Mobile military roadblocks and road closures continue to obstruct movement and compound civilian suffering.
The ongoing assault has so far resulted in the killing of 14 Palestinian civilians, including a child and two women, one of them eight months pregnant, alongside dozens of injuries and arrests. Widespread destruction has been inflicted on infrastructure, residential properties, commercial shops, and vehicles.
