Israeli soldiers invaded, Tuesday, Silwan town, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem, and demolished a three-story residential building under the pretext of being constructed without a permit.
Media sources said the soldiers invaded Wadi Qaddoum neighborhood in Silwan, before surrounding a residential building after imposing a siege on the entire area.
They added that the soldiers then invaded the building, owned by three siblings, identified as Wa’el, Ala’ and Nader Tahhan, before forcing them out, and demolished it.
The soldiers refused to even allow the siblings enough time to remove all their furniture and belongings, before destroying the building.
It is worth mentioning that the building was constructed in the year 1990, and the family has since been paying high fines and fees, exceeding 250.000 Shekels, after the city denied all permit applications.
In June of this year, an Israeli court in Jerusalem ruled against the family and ordered the demolition of the property.
The destruction of the property rendered twenty-five Palestinians, including children, homeless.
On Monday, Israeli soldiers demolished more than four Palestinian homes, in addition to a water reservoir, under the allegations of being built without permits from the Israeli occupation authorities, the same authorities who continue to deny the Palestinians the right to build on their own land to accommodate for their expanding families, while continuing to construct and expand illegal colonies, installed in direct violation of International Law.
