Israeli soldiers attacked, Friday, the weekly procession against the Annexation Wall and colonies in Kufur Qaddoum town, east of the northern West Bank city of Qalqilia, and shot one Palestinian, in addition to causing dozens to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation.
The procession started from the center of Kufur Qaddoum, where many Palestinians gathered and started marching towards their lands, while carrying Palestinian flags, and chanting for liberation and independence.
Israeli soldiers resorted to the excessive use of force against them and fired a barrage of rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs, and concussion grenades.
Medical sources said one Palestinian was shot with a rubber-coated steel bullet in the leg, and scores suffered the effects of teargas inhalation; they all received the needed treatment by local medics.
The soldiers also tried to ambush and abduct many protesters but were noticed by the locals before retreating.
Several protesters hurled stones at the invading soldiers, and burnt tires, especially when they tried to ambush and abduct them.
Palestinians have been holding weekly demonstrations in Kufur Qaddoum village, since 2003, to demand the military to reopen the village’s main road, which was closed in 2002, for the benefit of illegal settlers in nearby illegal Israeli colonies.
