Israeli forces killed a Palestinian child, late Tuesday night, after shooting and abducting him in Silwan town, south of the al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem.

The Arab 48 News website reported that the child, Omar Hussam Yaqoub Shuwaiki, 17, succumbed to gunshot wounds he sustained from the Israeli police, on Tuesday night, in Silwan town.

According to the Jerusalem Governorate, the slain child died after occupation police shot and abducted him in Silwan town.


Soon after his death, occupation police and intelligence services invaded the town of Silwan, and deployed in the vicinity of the slain child’s home, while occupation police failed to provide any information to the family or their lawyers.

Sources added that Israeli forces notified the father of the child’s death and proceeded to hand him a summons to appear at an interrogation facility for an interview with Israeli intelligence.

In an initial statement, the Jerusalem Governorate reported that occupation forces opened fire at the young man, on Tuesday night, before abducting him in the town of Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Governorate added that the occupation army invaded Hizma town, northeast of occupied Jerusalem; no arrests or protests were reported.


Since the beginning of the Israeli military onslaught against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have killed 804 Palestinians in the West Bank, including 169 children, and injured 6,450.

The distribution of those killed in the West Bank is as follows; 222 in Jenin, 182 in Tulkarem, 86 in Nablus, 76 in Hebron, 64 in Tubas, 59 in Ramallah, 49 in occupied Jerusalem, 30 in Qalqilia, 20 in Bethlehem, 12 in Jericho, 12 inside Israel, and 4 in Salfit.

Since October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have killed 44,502 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, most of whom are women and children, and injured 105,454 citizens, while the bodies of thousands of citizens remain buried under the rubble of the devastated coastal enclave.
