Israeli forces killed a Palestinian young man on Friday in the Balata refugee camp, and shot four others in the town of Beit Furik, in the northern West Bank governorate of Nablus.

Media sources said that occupation forces shot and critically injured the young man, Mustafa Ahmad Mustafa Masha, 23; he later succumbed to his wounds.

Sources added that occupation forces invaded, at dawn Friday, the Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus, sparking protests from Palestinian youths.

Israeli soldiers fired live rounds at citizens, seriously injuring the young man, and proceeded to deny him medical treatment by blocking ambulances from reaching him.

Mustafa Masha was a former prisoner who served two years in Israeli prisons before being released on August 21, 2024.

Sources said that during the incursion into the camp the army stormed and ransacked several homes and abducted the young man, Basil Hussam Hashash.

In related news, the army invaded the town of Beit Furik, southeast of Nablus, on Friday afternoon, sparking protests among local Palestinian youths.

The Arab 48 News website reported that soldiers fired live rounds, rubber-coated steel rounds, and tear gas canisters at citizens, shooting four young men in their lower extremities with live ammunition; they were transported to hospital for treatment.

Later, large crowds of citizens gathered in front of the Rafidia Governmental Hospital in Nablus to receive the body of the slain young man, before marching to the Balata refugee camp carrying the body on their shoulders.

Loved ones said their final goodbyes before performing the funeral prayer at the Abbad al-Rahman Mosque and laying him to rest in the Martyrs’ cemetery in the camp.

Since the beginning of the Israeli military onslaught against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have killed 807 Palestinians in the West Bank, including 169 children, and injured 6,450.

The distribution of those killed in the West Bank is as follows; 222 in Jenin, 183 in Tulkarem, 88 in Nablus, 76 in Hebron, 64 in Tubas, 59 in Ramallah, 49 in occupied Jerusalem, 30 in Qalqilia, 20 in Bethlehem, 12 in Jericho, 12 inside Israel, and 4 in Salfit.

Since October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have killed 44,612 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, most of whom are women and children, and injured 105,834 citizens, while the bodies of thousands of citizens remain buried under the rubble of the devastated coastal enclave.
