On Sunday evening, Israeli occupation forces opened fire on a Palestinian vehicle in ‘Ezbet at-Tayyeb, near the town of Azzun, east of Qalqilia in the northwestern West Bank, killing one Palestinian and seriously wounding another.
The Palestinian General Authority of Civil Affairs stated that the soldiers killed Mo’men Nidal Abu Riyash, 19, and are holding his body.
The Authority added that another young man, Bara’ Bilal Issa Qabalan, sustained serious injuries after being shot by the soldiers who also abducted him, while a third, Mohammad Sa’id Taha Hussein, was abducted during the same incident between the towns of Azzun and ‘Ezbet at-Tabib, east of Qalqilia.
Local sources reported that soldiers stationed at the northern entrance to Azzun fired live rounds at the car as it traveled along the Qalqilia–Nablus road.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) issued an initial alert of injuries in the area but confirmed that its medical teams were prevented by Israeli forces from reaching the wounded.
Witnesses said soldiers fired multiple live rounds directly into the windshield of the vehicle, concentrating their fire on the driver’s side.
Initially, reports suggested that one Palestinian may have been killed and two were injured, one seriously,

In a brief statement, the Israeli army claimed that its soldiers opened fire on three Palestinians accused of throwing stones at military vehicles. The army added that “one Palestinian was eliminated,” another was “neutralized,” and a third was abducted.
The military’s use of the term “neutralized” is deliberately vague. In Israeli army parlance, it can mean that a person was killed, seriously wounded, or captured.
By employing such language, the army avoids specifying the actual fate of the targeted Palestinian, leaving ambiguity that obscures whether the individual survived, was injured, or was detained.
Following the shooting, occupation troops closed the iron gate at the main entrance to Nabi Elias village, which connects to Azzun, obstructing civilian movement.
Soldiers also deployed at the entrance to the adjacent community of ‘Ezbet al-Tabib, further tightening restrictions on residents.
This incident highlights the ongoing pattern of military violence and collective punishment in the Qalqilia district, where road closures, shootings, and denial of medical access have become routine measures against Palestinian communities.
On Saturday evening, Israeli occupation soldiers shot and killed two Palestinians in Hebron, in the southern occupied West Bank.
The two slain Palestinians have been officially identified as Ziad Na’im Abdul-Jabbar Abu Daoud, 55, and Ahmad Khalil Rajabi, 20.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported that its medics transferred the body of Ziad to Hebron Governmental Hospital and added that Israeli forces refused to release the corpse of Ahmad Khalil Rajabi, 20. Abu Daoud, one of the slain Palestinians, was a sanitation worker with the Hebron City Council.
Israel has now killed 257 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank since the beginning of this year, 2025, among the slain Palestinians are 52 children, 7 women and 6 elders.
83 Palestinians were killed in Jenin, 46 in Nablus, 31 in Tubas, 28 in Hebron, 22 in Ramallah, 17 in Tulkarem, 10 in Jerusalem, 9 in Bethlehem, 8 in Qalqilia, 3 in Salfit and 1 in Jericho.
