RAMALLAH, Thursday, July 25, 2024 (WAFA) –The Detainees and Ex-Detainees Commission, the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS), and the Addameer Foundation for Prisoner Care and Human Rights said that at least 18 detainees were killed in the occupation jails after October 7.
They said that there are dozens of detainees from the Gaza Strip were also killed inside jails and detention centers, and until this movement, the occupation did not disclose their identities and the circumstances of their deaths.
The prisoner institutions affirmed in a joint statement that Israeli occupation forces withheld the bodies of at least 16 detainees since the beginning of the aggression on the Strip.
They pointed out that these data do not include the number of detentions from Gaza, noting that the occupation admitted that it detained about 4,000 citizens from Gaza, hundreds of whom were released, noting that the occupation detained hundreds of Gaza workers in the West Bank. .
The institutions clarified that the number of detainees in the occupation prisons reached about 9,700, until the beginning of July 2024, while the number of administrative detainees is 3,380.
The prisoner institutions indicated that the number of female detainees in the occupation prisons reached 86 detainees in the Israeli prison of Damoun, including a pregnant woman,
They also added that there are at least 23 female detainees who placed under administrative detention, stressing that among the detainees are at least 250 children.
Since the start of the Israeli aggression against the Strip, administrative detention orders have amounted to more than 7,500 orders, including new orders and renewal orders, including orders against children and women.
