A Palestinian woman was killed, a child was wounded, and a young man succumbed to critical wounds on Thursday as Israeli forces intensified gunfire and artillery attacks across multiple areas of the devastated Gaza Strip, marking yet another escalation that has deepened civilian suffering under ongoing military assaults.
Medical sources confirmed that Rawan Fayyad was shot and killed by Israeli forces outside the army’s deployment zone east of al‑Maghazi in the central Gaza Strip.
They added that a 12‑year‑old child was wounded by Israeli gunfire in the al‑Atatra area of Beit Lahia, in northern Gaza, before being transferred to al‑Shifa Hospital, where his condition was described as moderate.
In Khan Younis, a Palestinian man died from wounds he sustained earlier after being shot by Israeli forces in the eastern part of the city.
These incidents occurred amid another broad Israeli military escalation that began on Wednesday and continued overnight, with heavy artillery shelling and sustained gunfire reported across eastern areas of the central governorate, Gaza City, and Khan Younis. Israeli forces also detonated structures east of Tuffah.
Journalists on the ground noted that the attacks were concentrated in zones under direct Israeli military control, with a marked increase in intensity compared to recent weeks.
According to Anadolu Agency, Israeli shelling and gunfire persisted throughout Wednesday, accompanied by extensive movement of military vehicles along the so‑called “yellow line,” the boundary marking areas under Israeli occupation.
Israeli forces continue to occupy approximately 53% of Gaza’s territory, effectively isolating it from the remaining areas where Palestinians are allowed limited movement under extremely harsh conditions.
The army also carried out three demolition operations, destroying buildings and structures inside the controlled zone in Bani Suhaila, Sheikh Nasser, and al‑Tahliya east of Khan Younis, as well as Qizan Rashwan and Qizan Najjar to the south. Illumination bombs lit up the eastern skyline as artillery and helicopter fire continued.

In the central Gaza Strip, Israeli artillery targeted the eastern parts of al‑Bureij refugee camp and Deir al‑Balah, while in the north, shelling and gunfire struck the eastern neighborhoods of Gaza City, including Zeitoun, Shuja’iyya, Tuffah, and the town of Jabalia.
Israeli naval vessels opened heavy fire toward the tents of displaced families along the Gaza coastline, further endangering civilians already living in precarious conditions.

Despite the “ceasefire” announced on October 10, 2025, Israeli forces continue to commit daily violations. According to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, 713 Palestinians have been killed and 1,940 wounded since the ceasefire began.
The cumulative toll of the genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, has now reached at least 72,289 Palestinians killed and more than 172,040 wounded, with many more still missing beneath the rubble.
This latest escalation highlights the ongoing vulnerability of civilians living in areas under Israeli military control, where movement is restricted, humanitarian access remains severely limited, and the threat of sudden bombardment persists.
