Dr. Mu’awiah Hassanein, director of the emergency and ambulance department in the Ministry of Health in the Gaza strip told IMEMC that Mohammed Hassanein, 21, and Na’el Abu Hamidah, 23, were wounded last Friday when members from the Executive Force of the Ministry of Interior, and operatives of Al Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas attacked a training site of the Fattah affiliated Presidential Guards in Beit Lahiya town northern Gaza Strip.
Both Hassanein and Abu Hamidah were moved to the Aqsa hospital where they pronounced died today. Dr. Hassanein stated that at least 10 members of the Presidential Guards died due to the Friday attack so far and many more are still in critical condition.
Meanwhile Mohamed Afanah, 23, died also on Monday of wounds sustained during gun battles between Hamas and Fatah supporters that took place last Friday in northern Jabalia town of Gaza Strip, he was moved with very critical wounds to Al Shifa hospital were he died today, sources in Al Shifa hospital reported.
Both Hamas and Fatah agreed on cease-fire on Sunday for the ninth time in recent months, trying to put an end to fierce gun battles that have claimed lives of at least 40 Palestinians and wounded more than 250 others.
Leaders of both factions will meet on Tuesday in Mecca, the holy city for Muslims in bid to reach a solid applicable agreement to form a National Unity government hoping it will put an end to the economic blockade imposed on the Palestinian people by the United States, the European Union and Israel since March of 2006.
