The Israeli military has killed one member of the population of Gaza, on Wednesday, and injured another in the third attack on the region in as many days. The attack injured one other, outside Khan Younis, in a pre-dawn attack.
The Israeli military claimed that the men had entered the buffer zone and were approaching the security fence that encloses the region.
The zone stretches 300m into the Strip, with the Israeli military shooting at any one that enters. This leaves a significant amount of arable land un-workable.
An air raid, on Monday, killed Hamas commander Issa Batran and injured thirteen others, and on Tuesday, forty two civilians were injured when the Deir al-Balah refugee camp was struck with missile fire, although no-one was killed.
