A Lebanese Court sentenced on Friday evening a Lebanese army officer to twenty years imprisonment after convicting him of spying for Israel.The court ruled that Lieutenant Mansour Diab, 20, provided Israel sensitive information regarding the location of civilian and military areas in Lebanon, in addition to providing Israel with sensitive information about the Lebanese military.
Diab was arrested in May 2006; he is from Abdal village in the Akar region in northern Lebanon.
Lebanon recently arrested several persons suspected of spying for Israel; some of them were Lebanese army officers.
