Senior figure of al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades said that the group will strike Tel Aviv if the Israeli army resumes its operations and wide scaled arrests carried out in the West Bank against the Islamic Jihad.
Also, the brigades added that the army has been abusing the Palestinian villagers for several months, conducting continuous invasions and annexing more lands, which is a direct violation to the ceasefire agreements.
The Islamic Jihad movement warned that the military operation are direct violations to the truce, and will lead to reactions.ÂÂ
The Islamic Jihad repeated its calls to the Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, to halt all meetings with the Israeli government after it declared its intentions against it.
The Israeli Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz said on Saturday that the army will continue its operations, stating “We will continue to act against the Jihadâ€Â.ÂÂ
“Islamic Jihad has repeatedly violated cease-fire with attacks, now as the army is pressuring its members and operating against them, the movement threatens even more attacks, calls on Mahmoud Abbas not to meet us†Israeli Defense Minister Mofaz, said.ÂÂ
‘We will continue to act against Jihad’, Mofaz added.
Ramadan Shallah, one of the political leaders of the Islamic Jihad, told al-Safir Lebanese newspaper that the Israeli threats against the movement do not fright it.
Shallah added that the movement is committed to the truce because it wants to maintain Palestinian internal unity.
“Calm should not come for free, we conditioned before accepting the truce that the army should stop all of its operations against the Palestinian people and movements, we also conditioned that Israel should start releasing the detaineesâ€Â, Shallah added.
Shallah added that Israel killed 10 Islamic Jihad members during the “truce period†and arrested more than 300.
“We are committed to the truce but cannot sit idle, while the army has a freehand against us and against our peopleâ€Â, Shallah said.
