Israeli soldiers violently attacked a peaceful protest against the Separation Wall in Amateen village east of Qalqilia, and fired at Israeli and International peace activists, and Palestinian residents.
Eyewitnesses in the village told the IMEMC that 300-400 hundreds residents, and 50 Israeli and international activists protested against the Wall for two hours before the army violently attacked them and fired gas bombs, and concussion grenades.
Three Israeli activists were arrested were arrested, and one international identified as Netta, a co-founder of the International Solidarity movement was lightly injured in her leg.
At least thirty residents and activists suffered from coconscious, and suffocated after inhaling gas fired by the army; most of them were transferred to hospitals in Qalqilia. ÂÂ
Also, Israeli soldiers surrounded a building in Amateen, and detained twenty residents; the army attempted to arrest two residents from the village, but withdrew after dozens of residents and activists gathered in the area.ÂÂ
The attacked building includes a clinic and the village council offices.
The Israeli army started to bulldoze more that 300 Dunams of farmlands in order to construct the Wall which will eventually isolate 1000 Dunams of farmlands which belong to residents of Amateen near Qalqilia, and Dir Istia, near Salfit.
Moreover, Dir Istia village will lose more than 300 Dumans of farmland for Wall construction.
