Israeli soldiers late Friday night killed a Palestinian gunman attempting to plant an explosive charge near Ganei Tal settlement, in the Gush Katif settlement bloc in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli online daily Haaretz reported.
According to the army, soldiers noticed three fighters crawling near the security fence surrounding the Gush Katif settlement bloc. They then opened fire at them, killing one.
In a conflicting report, the Israeli Ynet News reported that three Palestinians were killed on Thursday at night while attempting to place a bomb along the settlement security fence.
The deaths were not confirmed by any source on the Palestinian side.
