The Israeli police forces in the internationally recognized occupied East Jerusalem, abducted early on Friday dawn the Palestinian Authority’s minister of Jerusalem Affairs, Fadi al-Hidmi.
Local Palestinian media outlets said a police force broke into the home of al-Hadmi in the Suwwana neighborhood and abducted him.
The sources added several Israeli police officers vandalized the home of al-Hidmi by breaking the front doors and allowing dogs to rampage through the property, casting panic among the home’s inhabitants.
The sources further noted that al-Hidmi was taken to a nearby interrogation Israeli center.
It is worth mentioning that this is the fourth time Israeli police in the occupied East Jerusalem, abducts and detains al-Hidmi, in the past several months.
Al-Hidmi was repeatedly interrogated and faced harsh measures during his frequent arrests and imprisonments.
Since the United States recognized all of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel in December 2017, Israeli authorities imposed more restrictions on the indigenous Palestinian population of the city, including escalated and violent invasions of neighborhoods and the abduction of hundreds of Palestinian residents, in addition to shutting down Palestinian institutions.
Palestinian Prime Minister, Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh, denounced the abduction of al-Hidmi, and called for his immediate release.
