At least one Palestinian was killed and another seriously wounded in an Israeli air strike that targeted a car he was riding in the northern Gaza Strip, local sources reported.
Palestinian sources identified the man as Majed Matat 27, an operative of the Aqsa Martyr Brigades in the Gaza Strip.

The military has stepped up such attacks after the retaliatory suicide bombing that killed five Israelis on Wednesday in an open-air market in Hadera.

Palestinian resistance on Friday morning fired two home-made Qassam shells from Gaza, one of which landed in an open area north of the Strip. The shell caused no damage.
