Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades the armed wing of Fatah claimed responsibility for launching two home-made shells at an Israeli town in the western Negev desert on Monday, Ma’an News Agency reported.
The shelling resulted in no injuries or damage as the two projectiles landed in an open-space.
In its statement, the group said that this shelling came is a response to the Sunday night’s air strike that targeted operatives of the Popular Resistance Committee, in which one resident was killed.
Earlier on Monday, Al-Aqsa Brigades, and Al Quds Brigades, the armed wing of Islamic Jihad, claimed joint responsibility for firing five homemade shells toward the Israeli military crossing point of Kissufim east of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.
Other shells were fired at the Kerem Shalom crossing point east of Deir Al Balah City in the central of the Gaza Strip.
Sunday’s air strike comes shortly before Israeli army declared that it would scale down its invasions and attacks against Palestinians until the upcoming Palestinian elections to be held on January 25.
