Media spokesperson of the Palestinian Ministry of Interior, Tawfiq Abu Khousa, reported on Tuesday that Israeli artillery fired ten shells on Tuesday morning at residential areas in the northern and eastern parts of the Gaza Strip. In a phone call with Palestine News Network, Abu Khousa said that one of the shells directly hit the house of Adeeb Al Masry, and another house, in the fifth floor of a residential tower in Abraj Al Awda area, in Beit Lahia, excessive damage was reported.

The residents of the two houses  where out of their homes when the shells were fired.

Meanwhile, Dr. Mawiyya Hassanen, head of the Emergency Unit at the Palestinian Ministry of Health, said during a press conference in Gaza earlier on Tuesday that at least three residents suffered shock after the Israeli army shelled  a neighborhood in Gaza city.

The Israeli Radio quoted a military source claiming that the shells were fired in retaliation to homemade shells that were fired at Israeli towns in the Negev.

According to an Israeli military source, one Qassam shell was fired eat the Israeli Negev town of Sderot, and another shell was fired at a military base east of Dir Al Balah.

In the West Bank, Israeli soldiers arrested 19 residents in separate invasions carried on Monday at night and Tuesday morning in several cities and villages.

The military escalation comes after the soldiers killed, on Monday, a woman near the Kissufim crossing in the central Gaza Strip.

A medical source at Al Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir Al Balah identified the woman as Nayfa Abu Msa’ed, 25. She sustained bullet wounds to several parts of her body, especially her chest.
