The Bethlehem office of the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) reported that Israeli soldiers arrested 24 Palestinian residents in Bethlehem in seven days. All of the arrestees were arrested from home during separate arrest invasions to the city.
The PPS said that the arrests were carried out by soldiers and under-cover units of the Israeli army. Soldiers and under-cover forced attacked the arrestees and their families after breaking into their homes.
Most of the arrestees are youth, the PPS added. They are from Bethlehem and several surrounding villages.
On Wednesday afternoon, Israeli soldiers, supported by six military jeeps, invaded Beit Jala city, and drove through its main street towards Bethlehem.
