At least 320 Palestinians were treated for shock in the past week as a result of the continuous shelling of Palestinian residential areas in the Gaza Strip, Palestinian medical sources reported.

Dr. Muawiya Hasanein, head of the Emergency Rooms Department at the Palestinian Ministry of Health said there are 143 children among those treated for shock.

Hasanein also warned of an environmental and hygienic disaster in the Gaza Strip as a result of the closure and the shelling of the Palestinian areas.

He added that three Palestinians were wounded on Wednesday when Israeli artillery shelled the areas they reside.

Latest victim of the shelling was 19-year-old Mamdouh Obeid who was killed in Beit Lahia, on April 17 as he was wounded in his abdomen.

9-year-old girl Hadeel Ghaban, was killed and her family members were wounded when an Israeli shell hit their house north of Biet Lahia.
