On Wednesday, Israeli soldiers shot one Palestinian with a rubber-coated steel bullet in the eye and caused dozens to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation at the main entrance of Bethlehem city, south of occupied Jerusalem, in the West Bank.
Media sources said many Palestinians protested the escalating Israeli violation across the West Bank, especially in Jerusalem’s Shu’fat refugee camp, and marched toward the northern entrance of Bethlehem before Israeli soldiers attacked them with live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, and gas bombs.
They added that the soldiers shot a young man with a rubber-coated steel bullet in the eye before Palestinian medics rushed him to a hospital.
The soldiers also fired a barrage of gas bombs and concussion grenades, causing dozens of Palestinians, including many schoolchildren, to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation.
In addition, the army targeted Palestinian journalists to stop them from documenting the unfolding events.
