Israeli soldiers detained scores of residents at the southern entrance of the West Bank city of Nablus Tuesday morning.

Eyewitnesses reported that troops stopped civilian cars and residents on their way to work or school for long hours.

Two of the soldiers detained a number of youth and checked their ID cards.  Harassments by the soldiers were also reported.

Local residents said that because of these acts by the army, residents from neighboring West Bank cities and villages have been unable to go to and from school or work.
