On Wednesday, Israeli soldiers shot and seriously injured a young Palestinian man west of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank.
Media sources said the soldiers attacked Palestinian protesters in the Aqabat Hasna area at the entrance of the western countryside of Bethlehem.
They added that the soldiers shot the young man with live fire in the pelvis and added that he also suffered bullet fragments in the chest and abdomen.
Palestinian medics treated the young man to stabilize his condition and rushed him to Bethlehem Arab Society Hospital for Rehabilitation in the nearby city of Beit Jala, where he was immediately admitted to surgery.
In related news, the soldiers attacked protesters in Abu Dis town, east of occupied Jerusalem, and fired many live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, and gas bombs.
On Wednesday morning, the Palestinian Health Ministry said a man, Hashem Mubarak, 48, died from serious wounds he suffered during the Israeli bombing of Gaza at dawn.
Hashem’s death came a few hours after a ceasefire agreement was reached under Egyptian medication.
The agreement came hours after Israel bombarded many parts of the Gaza Strip in retaliation to what it called “the firing of shells from the coastal enclave into nearby Israeli areas.”
The Islamic Jihad in Gaza said it fired many shells into Israeli areas to retaliate to the death of Khader Adnan, 45, a political figure of the group, who died in an Israeli prison after 86 days of hunger strike.
