A Palestinian young man was killed, on Wednesday evening, as a result of an accidental explosion, in Kafr Qalil village, south of Nablus, in the northern occupied West Bank.

According to medical sources with the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS), a critically injured young man arrived at Rafidia Hospital in Nablus, after an explosion in his home.

Sources added that resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful, and the young man, identified as Ayed Adel Al-Quni, 30, was pronounced dead.

The cause of Al-Quni’s death was the result of accidental detonation of a crude explosive device during preparation.

The “Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades” (the military wing of the Palestinian National Liberation Movement – Fatah, in Nablus) and the “Lion’s Den” (resistance group in Nablus), both mourned the death of the fighter.

It is important to mention that Al-Quni’s father is a former prisoner, who spent nearly 20 years in occupation prisons, while his brother, a current prisoner, has spent nearly 14 years in Israeli prisons.

Furthermore, the Al-Quni family home was demolished by Israeli forces in 2002.

Just recently, another resistance fighter was killed, and another seriously injured after an accidental explosion in the central part of the besieged Gaza Strip.
