Israeli authorities issued military orders Thursday requiring the removal of trees and vegetation from 310.868 dunams of Palestinian-owned land across the Jenin district in the northern occupied West Bank. A separate order calls for the seizure of 3.536 dunams in the town of Marka.
Palestinian officials and farmers describe the measures as part of a broader effort to reduce agricultural activity and expand Israeli military and settlement control across the district.
The six vegetation-removal orders cover a combined 310.868 dunams, according to the documents.
The orders cover 51.26 dunams belonging to residents of Ya’bad at the town’s main entrance; 66.698 dunams along the ‘Arraba–Ya’bad road; 32.21 dunams at ‘Arraba’s main entrance; 52.44 dunams along the Jenin–Nablus road; 71.81 dunams opposite the Fahma refugee camp on the same road; and 36.45 dunams in ‘Anza and ‘Ajjah.
A separate military order calls for the seizure of 3.536 dunams belonging to Marka residents in the al-Hafira area.
Local councils and farmers say the orders are part of a broader pattern of actions affecting agricultural land across the Jenin district, including tree uprooting, vegetation clearance and land confiscation.
The councils and farmers say the orders threaten productive farmland, harm agricultural livelihoods and further divide Palestinian-owned land through expanding Israeli military and settlement infrastructure.
Israeli authorities did not immediately provide a response explaining the stated military purpose of the orders or addressing the concerns raised by local councils and farmers.
