Despite the Israeli military court’s decision last week to release 18
detained Hamas officials, the court at the Ofer military base withheld
its final decision, which was supposed to be issued Monday, after an
appeal made by the military prosecution.
Over two dozen Hamas officials have been arrested since this past June in response to the capture of Israel Defense Forces soldier Gilad Shalit by Palestinian militants allied with Hamas.
The judge did not confirm when the final decision would take place, but said he would inform the parties involved when a decision was made.
