Israeli security sources claimed that an Israeli Arab woman from Al
Teera assisted Palestinians who attempted to carry an bombing attack in
a restaurant in Ra'ananna, north of the country. The report was
released for publication on Sunday.
Israeli online daily, Haaretz, reported that the Tel Aviv District Attorney on Sunday filed charges against Woroud Qasim, 20, accusing her of “aiding the enemy, contact with a foreign agent and membership in a terror organization”.
According to the indictment, a resident of the northern West Bank town of Qalqilia, decided in 2006 to establish a cell that belongs to the Al Aqsa Brigades with the aim to carry attacks against Israeli soldiers and against the District Coordination office in Qalqilia; the resident was identified as Basil Hamad.
The cell, according to Israeli sources was also responsible for abducting and interrogating Palestinians collaborating with Israel.
The Israeli Ynentnews reported that members of the cell included Mohammad Yacoub, Ahmad Mohammad, Mohammad Bulbi, a cousin of Woroud, and another woman identified as Khawla.
The Israeli prosecution claims that Qasim joined the Al Aqsa Brigades, the armed wing of Fateh movement, three months ago and participated in planning a bombing attack in Israel, that was not carried out.
The Israeli security devices said that Woroud drove a leader of the Al Aqsa Brigades, carrying an explosive device, to Ramallah but refused to drive him into Israel.
Woroud was taken prisoner on October 4, and was unable to meet with any attorney. She rejected all charges pressed against her.
