Palestinian sources in Nablus, in the northern part of the West Bank,
reported on Friday afternoon that Fateh and Hamas gunmen engaged in
renewed armed clashes in the city.

The recent clashes took place after Friday prayers and two residents were injured and hospitalized at a Nablus hospital.

Sources from the Hamas movement said that its gunmen abducted one of Fateh's members during the clashes that took place in Al Sabra neighborhood.

Members of Hamas were celebrating the nineteenth anniversary of the movements’ establishment at the Nablus playground.

Last night, one resident was killed and one fighter of the Al Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, was abducted and was taken to an unknown destination.

The Gaza clashes were one of the most violent clashes between Fateh and Hamas gunmen.

One Palestinian man was critically wounded in the head during clashes
between Fatah and Hamas supporters in the northern West Bank city of
Nablus on Friday morning.

Hamas activists were preparing a local football playground for their 19th anniversary celebration in the city center of Nablus when clashes erupted between them and Fatah activists, leading to the injury of Mu'ien Hamudah, 32.  Medical sources reported that Hamudah sustained a direct hit in the head.  They described his injuries as critical.

Later on, Hamas activists kidnapped Tamer Ashour, 20, said to be a Fatah activist, to question him about the attack.  Wa'el Al Hashash, Hamas spokesperson in the city of Nablus, affirmed the kidnapping and said they will keep Ashour until they find out who is responsible for the earlier attack.  Al Hashah added that the Hamas rally on Friday afternoon will take place in the city and asked the Palestinian Security Forces to do its part by keeping law and order and protecting its citizens.

Local Palestinian medical sources reported that fierce clashes took place in the city that made it difficult to evacuate Hamudah, the injured man, to one of the city hospitals, but eventually he was evacuated to Al Itihad Hospital.

Different Palestinian factions' representatives arrived at the scene of the clashes and were able to calm the scene, which was noticeably quieting.
