The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported on Thursday that 140
residents suffering from heart problems and cancer were allowed through
the Rafah border crossing on their way to Egyptian hospitals for
treatment.
The ministry added that children are among the residents who were allowed through the terminal.
Dr. Muawiya Hassanen, head of the Emergency Unit at the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that 75 patients were transferred by a bus that belongs to the ministry while 22 others were transferred by ambulances and 43 by taxis.
Dr. Hassanen added that 107 patients, including women and children, who were receiving treatment in Egypt managed to cross into the Gaza Strip.
The patients are suffering from cancer and were receiving chemotherapy in Egypt.
Also, several residents who were injured during Israeli military attacks crossed into the Gaza Strip via ambulances.
