On Sunday, Israeli soldiers abducted at least twenty-five Palestinians, including a young woman, children, and former political prisoners, from several parts of the occupied West Bank.
Media sources said the soldiers abducted a young woman near the Chain Gate, one of the gates of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in the occupied capital, Jerusalem, after alleging she “carried a knife.”
The soldiers closed all Old City gates and all gates leading to Al-Aqsa, preventing the Palestinians from entering or leaving the area, in addition to assaulting and interrogating many young men, before later opening the gate.
In a statement, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society and the Palestinian Detainees’ Committee, said the soldiers abducted at least 25 Palestinians, largely from their homes, in several parts of the occupied West Bank.
They added that the abductions took place mainly in Nablus, Ramallah, Hebron, Jenin, Jericho, Jerusalem, Qalqilia and Tulkarem.
During the home invasions, the soldiers caused serious property damage, and assaulted many Palestinians, in addition to threatening to harm and kill the Palestinians.
Since October 7, 2023, Israeli soldiers abducted more than 8.575 Palestinians, mostly from their homes, and those abducted on roadblocks or those who had to turn themselves in to the army after the soldiers took members of their families as hostages to force them to surrender.
