One Palestinian man was killed and seven others injured when an explosion took place in a house located in Al Al Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza city on Monday midday.
Medical sources in Al Shifa hospital reported that Ala Al Hassi, 25, died and seven other people were injured when a massive unidentified explosion hit the Hassi family house in Al Shati refugee camp. The sources added that Al Hassi arrived to the hospital severely injured and died shortly thereafter, and that the other seven people sustained critical wounds.
The house of the Al Hassi family, which is a two-storey house, was completely leveled to the ground by the explosion. Other nearby house sustained damage too, local sources reported. Palestinian police and security forces rushed to the scene and are currently investigating the reason behind the explosion.

Initial media reports said that a two-storey house has exploded, and that nearby houses have been damaged, leading to the injury of a number of inhabitants.
