The News Cast
Local sources reported that forces attacked Na’eem and Khaleel Abu Hasana’s home in ‘Ateel, and kidnapped and transferred them to an undisclosed detention center. While in the town, troops broke into and ransacked a number of civilian homes, claiming that they found a missile during the invasion.
Later in the day, a large Israeli force invaded the city of Tulkarem and broke into a café in the downtown and took ten Palestinians prisoner. One of those was Omar Badawi, said to be leader of the Islamic Jihad in the city.
Meanwhile on Wednesday, in the Gaza Strip, the Salah Eldin brigade, the armed wing of the Popular Resistance Committee claimed that its fighters wounded a number of Israeli soldiers in clashes which erupted near the Kissufim military post south of the Gaza Strip. The Israeli army did not comment on this claim.
While Egyptian and Israeli officials continue to discuss the possibility of reopening of the Rafah crossing, the only way for Palestinians living in the Gaza strip to reach the outside world, Palestinians continue to die due to lack of medical supplies and treatment in Gaza hospitals. The siege on Gaza continues to cripple all hospitals in the coastal region.
Palestinian medical sources announced on Tuesday evening that one child had died in a Gaza hospital after the Israeli Authorities prevented his transfer to a hospital abroad. The child was identified as 2-year-old Sa’id Al Ayidy, from Rafah. He suffered from a kidney infection. With al-Aidy’s death, the number of Palestinian patients who have died as a result of the siege now stands at 98, including 17 children.
